i-City - The Nighttime Wonderland of Malaysia

i-City, one of the latest high-tech attractions of Malaysia, can best be described as an unconventional mix of Oriental style and the latest in lighting technology. Located in the city of Shah Alam, i-City is a one-of-a-kind theme-park where all the main attractions are made of plastic and millions of bright LED lights.
Similar to Elmer Long’s Bottle Tree Ranch, during the day, i-City’s artificial forest of maple and pine trees really comes to life at night. Made out of plastic and fitted with colorful LEDs, they put on a light show unlike any other. Inaugurated in early 2010, Shah Alam‘s i-City has already become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malaysia. From rows upon rows of LED-made Chinese lanterns, to LED peacocks, flamingos and LED cherry blossoms, i-City offers a variety of unique sights that are sure to amaze anyone who visits here.

Did you know that enough solar energy hits the earth in 8 minutes to power the whole earth's needs for one year. The sun-drenched swaths of land in southwestern Spain seem custom-made for large solar projects. Creating solar power from this field of giant mechanical sunflowers forging towards a sustainable future. Developers believed using circular rows of mirrors to focus the sun's rays on a central  "power tower" would be more efficient than other types of reflector arrays, and would make it easier to integrate technology to store energy.

Portraits with a single thread wrapped through Nails

Constellation is an ongoing series of portraits by New York artist Kumi Yamashita known most prominently for her innovative light and shadow sculptures. Each image is constructed from a single unbroken black thread wound through a dense array of galvanized nails mounted on a painted white board, meaning that the darker areas within the portrait are formed solely from the density of the string. Colossal is no stranger to artworks created with thread and nails, but these are certainly some of the most impressive and intricate works I’ve ever seen made using this method.

Sculpture of San Francisco using 100000 toothpicks

Artist Scott Weaver had worked on this insanely complex kinetic sculpture, Rolling through the Bay, that he continues to modify and expand even today. The elaborate sculpture is comprised of multiple “tours” that move pingpong balls through neighborhoods, historical locations, and iconic symbols of San Francisco, all recreated with a little glue, some toothpicks, and an incredible amount of ingenuity.
Via his website Weaver estimates he’s spent over 3,000 hours on the project, and the toothpicks have been sourced from around the world:
"I have used different brands of toothpicks depending on what I am building. I also have many friends and family members that collect toothpicks in their travels for me. For example, some of the trees in Golden Gate Park are made from toothpicks from Kenya, Morocco, Spain, West Germany and Italy. The heart inside the Palace of Fine Arts is made out of toothpicks people threw at our wedding."

Reality of Husband and Wife Conversation

Two Women chatting in office
Woman 1: I had a fine evening, how was yours?
Woman 2: it was a disaster. My husband came home, ate his dinner in three minutes and fell asleep in two minutes. How was yours?
Woman 1: Oh it was amazing! My husband came home and took me out to a romantic dinner. After dinner we walked for an hour. When we came home he lit the candles around the house. It was like a fairytale!
At the same time, their husbands are talking at work
Husband 1: How was your evening?
Husband 2: Great. I went home, dinner was on the table, I ate and fell asleep. It was great! What about you?
Husband 1: It was horrible. I went home, there's no dinner bcoz they cut the electricity bcoz I hadn't paid the bill; so I hd to tke my wife out to dinner which ws so expensive that I didn't have money left for a cab. We had to walk home which took an hour & when we got home remember there was no electricity so I had to light candles all over the house!!!
Moral: Presentation does matter. No matter what the reality is.
