Wedding ring found on carrot after 16 years

A Swedish woman named Lena Paahlsson lost her wedding ring long back in 1995. She took it off while baking and never found it. The ring was searched meticulously back then, even beneath the floor tiles.
Here’s the bizarre part; the ring turned up recently, 16 years after she lost it. Lena was picking up carrots in her garden recently, and found the ring stuck in the middle of a carrot. The ring was donning a carrot which was pretty unbelievable. What can be deduced is that 16 years back the ring might have fallen into the sink with the vegetable peelings. The peelings might have composted beneath the earth, but the ring stayed; only to appear again after 16 years.

Google Street View Tour - Interior of the White House

Members of the Google Art project and the Google Street View team recently came to the White House to create a new way for people to tour the White House. Take a look at the process that went into creating a 360 degree virtual walk through of the White House public tour.

Conserve Water, or Kill the Gold Fish

Whenever you use Yan Lu's "Poor Little Fishbowl Sink," water in the above fishbowl drains, resulting in a life-threatening situation for its resident goldfish. That's a clever way of reminding us that our wasteful practices can directly affect other creatures (and that, for much of the world, water issues are matters of life or death).

Wooden Electromechanical Elephant

This gigantic animal, 12-metre high by 8-metre wide, lives in the largest warehouse.
When the majestic animal goes out for its walk, it is like architecture in motion departing a steel cathedral. The 49 passengers on board embark on an amazing journey on the Ile de Nantes. Each time the pachyderm goes out, it is a unique spectacle for everyone to enjoy.
From the inside, the passengers will be able to see the moving gears that power the legs. They can make the elephant trumpet and control some its movements, thus becoming truly a part of the Machine. On the back of the Elephant, it's like being on the 4th floor of a moving house, with a breathtaking view of the banks of the Loire River. In this time-travelling carriage, the passengers can voyage to the imaginary world of Jules Verne in the city where he was born.

Carrots used to be Purple Color

The orange color of carrots that we have come to be so familiar with is not their natural color. In fact, carrots were modified by their Dutch growers in the 17th century to match their national color.
A search for "purple carrots" revealed a number of images of present day purple carrots, like the ones in the picture. Carrots also come in shades of red in certain parts of the world.
Scientists are also engineering "supercarrots" that provide much more calcium than the normal variety.

Lickable Wallpaper!!!

In most metropolitan cities, you’d be loath to touch the elevator walls, let alone lick them. But thanks to a new installation in London, the lickable wallpaper dreamed up in “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” is now a reality.
Employees at Engine, a communications firm, recently got their first taste of the wallpaper, which features 1,325 McVitie's Jaffa Cakes and is posted to one of the building’s elevators. It’s called Spot of Jaffa, and was created by mad scientist chef Heston Blumenthal and Damien Hirst. The project took a team of food technicians and artists four weeks to develop with the hope of encouraging some sweet stress-relief.
If you’re wondering what a Jaffa Cake is, you must not be from the U.K., where these little treats are popular. Jaffa Cakes look like cookies, have a sponge-cake base, a layer of orange-flavored jelly and are coated in chocolate.
And if you’re thinking about how unhygienic this is, don’t worry. According to The Sun newspaper, every Jaffa Cake can only be licked once, as a bell boy removes the saliva-doused stickers.
The licking frenzy may soon spread to other offices in London, depending on the reception at Engine.

Amazing Single Line Furniture

Imagine a single line that bends, twists and turns and forms into everything, from your work area to shelves for all your belongings. There’s even a depression where your PC can fit in, as well as a seat for your guests.
Very cool and beautiful concept that really gives color to your place. Could even use it to hide those nasty cables that we just can’t seem to avoid.

The World’s Largest Deckchair

If you happen to be in Southern England and are feeling the heat, head on down to Bournemouth beach and check out the largest deckchair in the world.
A creation of artist Stuart Murdoch and standing at 28 feet tall, the giant chair is massive.
